10th Annual Conference on Control with Remote Sensing of Area-based Subsidies. Budapest, 24-27 November 2004. The event opened by MoARD Deputy State Secretary dr.N.Berczi and JRC Director Jack Delincé, had 286 registered participants from 32 countries. Eight of the represented Hungarian institutions were members of HUNAGI: Bekes, Debrecen University, ELTE TTT, Eurosense, FÖMI, GeoData and Infoterra. The Conference was logistically supported by CelkCenter

On 17 November, the European Environment Agency organised a launch event to present the outcome of the Corine Land Cover 2000 project. This event gave a clear picture about how the project can be used in delivering the EEA strategy, which role spatial planning can play in policy-making and how it
can support new policy initiatives like INSPIRE.

Recalling the old good days, a nostalgic meeting of UK and Hungarian Phare Team members, managers and civil servants including the Champion dr.Aladár Zichy who all assisted to implement the ICT upgrade of the Hungarian Land Office Network in the 90's was succesfully arranged by Ms.Maria Tóth, Robin McLaren and their colleagues in real family circle (youngest participant 5 weeks old...) in the Wine Restaurant Maligán located in Óbuda on November 19.
The Review Committee of the World Bank on the Celk Project lead by L. Holstein was impressed by the achievement of the project and the support and leadership of MoARD. The high-level meeting was held in Budapest on November 19
Alessandro Annoni, Coordinator for the ESDI at the EU Joint Research Center delivered the keynote on the INSPIRE Road Map and related developments at the HUNAGI Forum 2004 hosted by MoARD in Budapest

Memorial Ceremony
In memoriam Mr Fritz Rembold of FAO SEUR Land Tenure and Rural Development Officer,HUNAGI member institution representative, who passed away on 4 August, a memorial ceremony was organised on 1st October at the Bujak observation tower called Sasbérc. Mr Rembold initiated the reconstruction the tower. A commemorative plaque was unveiled by his colleagues and friends.

NSDI Strategy Task Force has been launched. HUNAGI received green light and mandate from the Interministerial Strategic Analysis Subcommittee chaired by Mr.Sándor Ferge, Ministry of Informatics and Communication to orchestrate the activity.
Infrastructural support will be provided by the Interministerial Coordinating Committee on Information Society headed by Mr.Tamás Kolossa. The initiative was submitted by HUNAGI, seconded by Mr.Géza Apagyi, Head of the Department of Lands and Mapping and the Department of Informatics, both of MoARD.

15th June: HUNAGI and Bonaventura has submitted in due time joint proposal in framework of the GSDI Small Grants programme.The receipt of the contribution was confirmed by GSDI Secretariat
11th June: HUNAGI won one of the five DVDs which was prepared by NASA and NOAA NESDIS for the 2003 CEOS Plenary held in Colorado Springs offered by USGS on "first come first win" basis on the Internet.

June 10-11: Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Chair of Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics hosted Prof. Karl Kraus of the TU of Vienna
Prof. Kraus gave introduction on the Airborne Laser Scanning with illustrations including application in the Mars Express Project. His Seminar on June 11 focused on Terrestrial Laser Scanning and Integrated Camera and Laser Scanning Systems. Also the Very close range Laser Scanning was introduced.
The event attracted about 40 scientists and experts was opened by Prof.Ákos Detrekői, Rector of the University
