We would like to inform you, that the Institute of Geodesy Cartography and Remote Sensing (FÖMI) according to the Hungarian Government’s Decree No. 1312/2016. (13. June) by legal succession – with integration into the Government Office for the Capital, Budapest – will be dissolved. FÖMI will continue its professional activities within the organization framework of the Government Office for the Capital, Budapest from 1st January 2017.

As a result of the organizational integration from 1st January 2017. in all outstanding contracts and partner relations the name Institute of Geodesy Cartography and Remote Sensing (FÖMI) – as legal successor – should be replaced by Government Office for the Capital, Budapest, in order to provide legal continuity.

Actual status of legal succession will continuously be reported at FÖMI’s website.
During the period of organizational integration FÖMI furthermore provides smooth execution of its tasks and services on unchanged level.

Institute of Geodesy Cartography and Remote Sensing (FÖMI) is the central Hungarian land administration organization, established in 1967. FÖMI is the central surveying and mapping organization of all official activities in Hungary in the field of land management, surveying and mapping. It is financed by the state budget and has the competence of a national authority. Its direct professional supervisory authority is the Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Land Administration.

FÖMI operates in two seats: in Budapest at Bosnyák square and in the Satellite Geodetic Observatory in Penc – 40 kms from Budapest.
